From February 14 to 17, the University of Latvia Faculty of Law team—Paula Šūtava, Evelīna Liepiņa, Valters Toms Vasermanis, and Kārlis Ošs—traveled to Turkey to take part in the 5th Istanbul Pre-Moot of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

During the competition, representing both the claimant and respondent positions, the LU team competed against the British University in Egypt, the University of Würzburg, the University of Istanbul, and Lazarski University.

The pre-moot was an excellent opportunity for the team to meet participants from other countries, prepare for upcoming pre-moots, and, most importantly, for the 32nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, which will take place in Vienna this April.

The team expresses gratitude to its coaches—Katrīna Annija Ročāne, Katrīna Bičevska, Artūrs Kazāks, and Ēriks Krēsliņš—for preparing them for the competition, as well as to the University of Latvia for financial support in participating in the Istanbul and other pre-moots.
