Private international law, international civil procedure, international trade law, alternative dispute resolution, aports law, investment law. 


Professional experience and achievements:

  • Has been coaching the Willem Vis International Commercial Moot t team for the last 20 years.
  • Sworn advocate and since 2008 the managing partner of her own law firm. Specialises in arbitration law and private international law. Has been recognized as the best arbitration practitioner in Latvia by Who'sWhoLegal magazine in 2010-2024. Practical knowledge is useful not only in lecturing at the University of Latvia, but also at the Latvian Judicial Training Centre, ERA and other courses.
  • In 2014 and 2021, was reappointed by the Latvian Government to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators. Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Latvian Bar Association and Women in Sports Law. Elected member of the Special Committee of the 1961 European Convention on International Commercial Arbitration.
  • Director of the Latvian Judicial Training Centre (1995-2000).
  • Holds a PhD in International Law from the University of Latvia (2010), an MA in Oriental Studies (2008), a Lawyer's Diploma (2000) and an LLM in International and Comparative Law from Chicago Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Techonology (2001). (2001).
