Digital Law (digital services, online intermediation services, practice of using artificial intelligence systems, etc.), Consumer Protection Law, Data Protection Law, Obligations Law.


Professional experience and achievements:

  • Author of many national and international scientific publications (including those indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases) and research (including projects of the Fundamental and Applied Research and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia).
  • Extensive academic experience in both developing and managing national and international study courses and trainings (including the European Judicial Training Network).
  • Long-term experience in national and international (mainly European Commission) working groups on the development, implementation and application of various regulatory acts and their accompanying documents (as the last examples – Digital Services Act, Artificial Intelligence Act, Data Act and many others).
  • Versatile experience in various national and international organizations (e.g., International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network, Consumer Protection Cooperation Network, etc.) and commissions (e.g., Parliament of the Republic of Latvia, Consumer Disputes Resolution Commission, etc.).
  • Extensive and long-term experience in public administration, litigation (mainly in administrative proceedings and civil proceedings) and private legal services. Author of several expert opinions in cases initiated by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Latvia.
  • Received two acknowledgements from the Consumer Rights Protection Centre for significant contribution to the protection of consumer rights.
